HISTORY :

Santec Systems, Inc.  was founded in 1989 to develop Acoustography as a simple, efficient and cost-effective alternative to conventional point-by-point industrial ultrasonic inspection techniques and pulse-echo medical ultrasonic imaging techniques.  The company founder, Dr. Jas Sandhu, who received a doctorate in the field from the University of London (UK), started the company in his garage and steadily assembled a team to advance the core technology.  The practicality of Acoustography became apparent when, under NSF-funded SBIR project completed 9/30/97, the team successfully overcame a number of technological drawbacks that had plagued Acoustography.   The result was the world's first Acoustography-based product, AcousticScope^TM, that is currently being sold to the nondestructive testing market.
